Problem

Coat racks easily become cluttered and unorganized. Whether it is having people over for a party or coming home from work, walking into a mess is never a good first impression.

Design a coat rack that allows us to be organized and uncluttered and sets the appropriate mood when stepping into our home.

IDEATION

Explored many linear forms that focused on highlighting the two main materials, wood and steel. Inspired heavily by typography and the silhouette the form would create up against a wall.

PROCESS

Check was designed and constructed within a 2 week timeframe. The process involved both wood and metal fabrication processes. This consisted of milling, turning, and welding.

Inspired by the feeling of having your coat checked at a cozy theater or sophisticated restaurant.

Wherever you move still feels like home. Designed to take down and assemble with just 4 screws and a bolt.
